Trivia
Mariah Carey’s performance in this film is what got her the role of Ms. Weiss in Precious (2009), as producer Lee Daniels was impressed by her in this film and offered the role to her after Helen Mirren dropped out.
Due to the independent nature of the film production, Mariah Carey was required to fly low-budget to arrive to the set to save on costs. She surprisingly agreed but booked out the entire plane so she could have the cabin all to herself.
Mariah Carey does not appear until 15 minutes into the film, and Lance Reddick doesn’t appear until 27 minutes.
